Taking a screenshot
A picture of the error or screen state usually tells the help desk far more than typing it out. Here are the fastest ways to send us one.
Easiest: Snipping Tool
Section titled “Easiest: Snipping Tool”- Press the Windows key + Shift + S at the same time.
- The screen dims and a small toolbar appears at the top. Click and drag to box the area you want to capture.
- The image is now on your clipboard. A small thumbnail appears in the bottom-right; click it to edit or save.
- To send it: open your email reply to support, click in the body, press Ctrl + V to paste.
Whole screen at once
Section titled “Whole screen at once”- Press the Print Screen key (sometimes “PrtScn” or “PrtSc”). The whole screen is captured to the clipboard.
- Open your email reply, click in the body, press Ctrl + V.
From a phone or tablet
Section titled “From a phone or tablet”- iPhone/iPad: press the side button + the volume-up button at the same time.
- Android: press the power button + volume-down button at the same time.
- The screenshot saves to Photos / Gallery. From there, share via email to support@techforseniorliving.com.
Tips for the help desk
Section titled “Tips for the help desk”- Capture the entire window, not just a tiny part — we often need to see what’s around the error.
- Include the time on the screen if visible — helps us correlate with monitoring logs.
- Don’t worry about resident or health information showing in the screenshot — we have a signed agreement covering that data and treat everything you send as confidential.
